Johan Lotand was born and raised in Stockholm where he studied art and marketing after high school. To earn extra money he early began to draw cartoons to almost all daily newspapers, weekly- and monthly magazines that had their editorial offices in Stockholm.
During the years there have been art exhibitions with Johans pictures in Sweden and Paris. The theme is always entertaining situations from
everyday life. His intention is to make you feel good and let you smile for a while.
Since autumn 1979, Johan Lotand lives in Båstad, a popular seaside resort situated in the south part of Sweden. Life there is easy and has a big heart. Therefore he continually paints Båstad, its surroundings and the daily life there, seen through his own eyes. A good mood in strong colors!
